UPR 299
european bulletin of himalayan research

The European Bulletin of Himalayan Research is a half-yearly journal that was founded in 1991 by Richard Burghart. It is edited on a three-year rota basis by the South Asia Institute (University of Heidelberg), SOAS (London), and CNRS (France). In December 2005 the task of editing it fell to several CNRS scholars: Pascale Dollfus, Philippe Ramirez, Boyd Michailovsky, Blandine Ripert, Anne de Sales.

The articles in EBHR pertain to the whole of the social sciences and humanities, and in particular geography, anthropology, sociology and history. The geographical area concerned extends from Karakorum to North-East India. Articles about neighbouring regions but which also concern the Himalayas are also welcome. Besides articles, EBHR also publishes book reviews and news about Himalayan research. Manuscripts are subject to a peer review.
