Séminaire doctoral - Pratiques langagières - terrains, méthodes, théories
Nancy Hawker (Oriental Institute, Oxford)
Some Palestinian citizens of Israel report speaking a variety of Arabic with borrowed Hebrew elements, which they call “‘Arabrāni” (Arabrew?). This is a hybrid code, but it does not correspond to a hybrid identity, at least not if one defines identity - as is programmatically done in the Palestinian-Israeli context - as national identity which is the product of nationalist ideology.
