Weibel-Palade bodies orchestrate pericytes during angiogenesis
08/08/2019 - This study performed at CRRET laboratory and published in the journal ATVB demonstrated that WPB Weibel-Palade bodies (WPBs) exocytosis and Ang-2 secretion are regulated during angiogenesis to limit pericyte coverage of remodeling vessels by disrupting Ang-1/Tie2 autocrine signaling in pericytes.
Weibel-Palade bodies are endothelial cell (EC)-specific storage organelles formed by vWF (von Willebrand factor) polymerization and that contain the proangiogenic factor Ang-2 (...)

Glycosaminoglycans from aged human hippocampus have altered capacities to regulate trophic factors activities but not Aβ 42 peptide toxicity
03/01/2012 - In this work Minh Bao Huynh shows that during the aging process, human brain glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) follow structural and functional modifications that consequently alter the function of important trophic factors implicated in (...)
